Let's begin

Hello everyone!

So, I decided to start this blog.

I think the first blog post should answer the main questions: Why? And what am I going to write here?

First of all, if you're reading this, you probably already know who I am. I'm Veronika Liachovic, a crochet pattern designer, and many of you may know me as the person behind VCrochetPatterns.

As you may have guessed, I'm moving my brand to a new platform with a new domain: patternsbyveronika.com.

There is a lot of work waiting for me. Before I even started, I spent a lot of time thinking about what I should change, how I should improve, what I should add, and what I wanted this new chapter to look like.

To prepare, I joined different communities and took several courses to learn new things. I made a lot of notes and drew many conclusions. In the end, though, I decided to do things the way that feels right to me—the way my gut tells me I should.

During all my research, I discovered just how much fake content is being created with AI these days. AI-generated crochet patterns, AI-written websites, AI images... it's everywhere.

Even though I already had a clear vision for how I wanted my website to look, one question kept coming back to me:

How do I prove that I'm a real person?

Many marketing experts suggest using Instagram to build trust. But honestly, Instagram has never really been my thing.

It's such a visual platform. If you're a travel blogger, you can share beautiful photos every day. I also love taking pictures when I'm out walking my dog, especially in nature. But creating a new crochet design isn't something that happens overnight. Crocheting a pattern takes time. Styling it, finding good lighting, taking beautiful photos—it all takes time too.

At some point, Instagram itself started feeling like another full-time job, and that's simply not what I want.

One day, while I was crocheting another floral granny square, I was thinking about all these changes I needed to make for my new website. I kept asking myself how I could show people that there is a real person behind this website.

Somehow, those thoughts came together, and I had an idea.

Maybe I should start a personal blog.

Nowadays, many creators use blogs mainly as another way to sell something. That's not the kind of blog I want to create.

I want an old-fashioned blog. Almost like a diary.

A place where I can share my journey as a crochet designer. A place where I can write about the experiments I'm trying, the inspiration I find, the lessons I learn, and the ideas that pop into my head while I'm crocheting for hours.

If you crochet, you probably know that feeling. Your hands are busy, but your mind is free. That's when some of the best ideas appear.

I think it could be fun to share those thoughts with you.

This blog will also become my journal as I go through this massive transition with my business. Maybe one day I'll look back at these posts and remember exactly how it all started.

I don't expect this blog to become hugely popular. These days, people don't tend to read as much. We live in a fast-paced world where short videos and quick content are everywhere.

But I still believe there's value in sharing.

In fact, while writing this very post, I noticed that my thoughts started to settle. Everything became a little clearer.

And maybe that's the best way to prove that there's a real person behind this website.

So...

Let's begin.
